TRATTOO
ART, BODY AND SOUL
3rd, 4th, and 5th October 2025
Within the Como Tattoo Convention®
The term “TRATTO” (from the French trait d’union, meaning “hyphen” or “connection”) represents the ambition to create a real link between traditionally defined art, body art, and the use of the body as a means of free personal expression in relation to the context that surrounds and hosts us.
T(R)ATTO aims to fill that missing piece that can create synergy between the use of the body as a tool for personal expression—also through tattooing—and the concept of art as emotional stimulation.
The Body in Life and Art: A Tool of Expression and Communication
The body is often interpreted as a mere physical shell, an organic structure that houses our identity and personality. In reality, the body is much more: it is the primary means through which we interact with the world, expressing emotions, desires, and thoughts.
Freedom of Expression and the Limits of Others
The personality that inhabits the body should feel free to express itself, as long as this does not infringe on the freedom of others. This principle is the foundation of a mature society, one that recognizes the value of individual autonomy and diversity, as well as the need for coexistence and mutual respect.
The Body as a Channel for Emotional Transmission
Through gestures, postures, glances, movements, and aesthetic choices, the body becomes a powerful tool of non-verbal communication. It conveys emotions, triggers reactions in others, and creates empathic connections, facilitating mutual understanding.
Art of the body
Just as art, in all its forms, has the power to evoke emotions and reflections in those who observe or experience it, the body too can be seen as a living work of art. Art stimulates sensitivity and emotional perception, inviting the viewer to connect with different inner worlds. Similarly, the body, when lived and presented as an authentic expression of oneself, becomes a vehicle for emotions and deep messages.
In summary, for us the body is not just a container, but a fundamental means of expression and communication. The freedom to express oneself through it, while respecting others, is both a right and an opportunity to enrich society with emotions, understanding, and beauty—just as art does.
How It Will Be Conducted:
We have planned a large area where artists who request it can bring and/or create their works on-site, ranging from paintings, sculptures, photographs, video art, or any other form of artistic expression.
The exhibited works will be selected solely based on their direct connection to the theme of the body.
The curator of the exhibition is the artist Filippo Borella, who will receive participation proposals and handle the management and organization of the exhibition spaces and the works of the involved artists.
Como Tattoo Convention®, as the organizing body, looks forward to admiring firsthand the works that will be presented to the public who will come to visit us.
